ECA Power's Hurlock Maryland Community Solar Project Is Now Live

Dorchester County site is energized and delivering clean energy to Delmarva Power customers.
ECA Power, in partnership with Luminace, today announced the successful energization of a 2.27 MWdc / 2.00 MWac community solar project in Hurlock, Maryland. The Hurlock community solar project is expected to generate approximately 2.8 Million kWh of clean electricity each year, enough to power roughly 200+ homes in the Delmarva Power service territory
A Model for Responsible Solar Development
The project sits on less than 10 acres of an industrially zoned 73-acre parcel in Dorchester County. The site was selected for its minimal environmental impact: no tree clearing or wetland disturbance was required, and the array is naturally buffered from neighboring properties. The project received unanimous approval from local boards, reflecting the kind of community-first siting approach ECA Power applies across its Maryland community solar projects.
Expanding Access Through the Maryland Community Solar Program
As part of the Maryland Community Solar Program, 40% of the energy generated at the Hurlock site is reserved for income-qualified residents. This structure allows Delmarva Power customers across the Eastern Shore to subscribe to local solar generation and save on their electric bills without installing panels on their own property, expanding access to renewable energy for households who might not otherwise be able to participate.

Hurlock is the latest ECA Power community solar site to come online in Maryland's Delmarva Power territory, joining previously energized project in Salisbury.
Each project follows the same approach: identifying well-suited land, working closely with local jurisdictions, and structuring subscriptions so nearby residents and income-qualified households benefit directly from the energy generated in their own communities.
ECA Power continues to develop community solar and land leasing opportunities throughout Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Illinois.
